POKE PROJECT: A FOREVER FAMILY HOME, Ljubljana
Our new project was designing the interior of a two-story, modern prefabricated house for a young family. The clients wanted a home that was airy, open, modern and full of light, as well as contemporary in selection of the materials, furnishings and lighting.
COLORS AND MATERIALS
BASE COLORS (1. row) / ACCENT CLORS (2. row) / MATERIALS (3.row)
The living area has an open floor plan and the possibilities of this kind of layout are endless: an abundance of natural light, the illusion of more space, and even the convenience that comes along with entertaining.
We created distinct groupings by function: kitchen, dining area with fireplace and living space and we tied them visually together by keeping a consistent color scheme throughout the whole space. We chose white and neutrals to be the dominant colors and then two bolder hues - mustard yellow and deep blue to add pops of visual interest. In addition to the colour we repeated similar prints, patterns and textures in accessories, textiles and wallpapers throughout the house to pull everything together.

We wanted to stay away from allowing too much clutter in the room since that can overwhelm the eye in an open space layout. Instead we built the design around pieces that pull double-duty by providing both functional and aesthetic value. Less is definitely more here.
We follow the modern staircase with glass fence to the upper floor, where we find the master bedroom with the functional walk-in closet and bathroom. There are other three rooms for the kids and the shared bathroom.
Lighting played an important part in this project where we used it as an architectural design element instead of simply using it to light the space. We used linear LED lights on the ceiling that visually divide the space in smaller areas. Thin LED lines are also installed on the skirting board which are integrated into the wall. By choosing LED technology we made the building more energy efficient.

Above the dining table there are two Mito sospenso lights by German brand Occhio. Mito is a jewel and an innovative lighting system at the same time. Captivatingly new: Occhio »color tune« lets the color temperature be adjusted according to the situation.
We believe we created a contemporary interior that will be a joyful family home for many years to come.
